Born and raised in Raleigh, NC.

Holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Jazz Trumpet from the University of the Arts.

Began taking piano lessons in kindergarten, and started trumpet lessons in 7th grade.

Has performed professionally in various capacities starting at age 16. Began teaching at age 22.

Studied privately with Don Eagle, Jim Ketch, Ray Codrington, Stephen Riley, Jimmy Owens, Charles Tolliver, George Rabbai, and John Swana.

Performs regularly around the Triangle and in North Carolina, playing with Peter Lamb and the Wolves, The Mint Julep Jazz Band, The Atomic Rhythm All-Stars, Boneslinger, and others.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is that every student must ultimately teach themselves -- a thirty-minute or hour-long lesson once a week is not a substitute for practice time -- so I provide the tools they need to improve within a structured framework that allows for flexibility, consistent progress, and, of course, fun.
Every student is unique so I work with them as a guide along their musical journey, helping them achieve their goals while also building the foundation that will translate to long-term success.
